Dr. Tang is a double board-certified and fellowship-trained dermatologist who grew up in Southern California.  She attended Brown University in Rhode Island for her undergraduate studies in Sociology and Brown's Warren Alpert School of Medicine as a graduate of the Program in Liberal Medical Education, an eight-year combined baccalaureate-MD course of study.

She completed her dermatology residency in New York City at Mt. Sinai Beth Israel-St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital, including specialty training in treating skin of color.  After residency, she finished an intensive and selective 1-year fellowship program in Mohs surgery and facial reconstruction at Mt. Sinai. She specializes in complex wound reconstruction, rare tumor pathology, and difficult tumor locations. Her fellowship is amongst a limited number of programs that are approved by both the Accreditation Council Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and The American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS)

Dr. Tang is also board-certified in Mohs Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery and was invited to be a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), whose membership is only granted to Mohs surgeons who have completed an approved 1-2 year advanced fellowship.   She has treated thousands of skin cancers with Mohs and reconstructive surgery.

After her training was completed, Dr. Tang joined the faculty at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where she was appointed Director of the Mohs Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology Unit.  Dr. Tang was also the Assistant Program Director for the Dermatology Residency Program, where she was responsible for mentoring and teaching dermatology physician-trainees.

Additionally, Dr. Tang has been active in research and academic medicine, authoring multiple journal articles, winning a large digital technology DELTA grant to improve dermatology education, writing book chapters and speaking at national medical conferences.  She is also a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

Dr. Tang brings a joyful and personalized approach to practicing the art of dermatology.  She offers a full spectrum of dermatologic services and expertise: general medical dermatology, surgical and non-surgical care of skin cancers, cosmetic dermatology and hair restoration.

Her patient-centered aesthetic philosophy includes creating a highly customized plan for each patient and using results-proven products, treatments and devices.  This approach integrates powerful topical skincare to prevent and protect on a daily basis, neurotoxins to relax and prevent wrinkles, lasers/peels/microneedling for textural improvement, and fillers for 3-D volume restoration to enhance her patients' natural beauty and bring out their most beautiful selves.

Outside of work, her passions include travel, music, sleuthing the latest sun-protective gear, practicing yoga, skiing, freediving and spearfishing, and anything involving the enjoyment of the great outdoors.
